The Department of Labor and Employment partially lifted the deployment ban of returning household workers (HSWs) in Jordan only that they will still work with the same employer and must have a monthly salary not lower than US$400 as stated in the Department Order No. 93-08, Series of 2008.
Labor Secretary Marianito Roque asked the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Jordan continue processing the documentary requirements of qualified returning HSWs.
The POEA and POLO in Jordan will also monitor the terms and conditions of employment of returning HSWs who will work with the same employer. And the DoLE assures that only qualified employers can hire Filipino HSWs to protect OFWs from abuse and exploitation.
