To warn Filipino jobseekers and to stop a fraudulent
activity, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) revealed on
its site a new email scam that offers fake nanny jobs for a supposed employer
in USA.
According to the POEA
Chief, Hans Leo J. Cacdac, he received a memorandum from the Philippine
Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Washington DC. The labor attaché, Luzviminda
Padilla endorsed the case of a Filipino who seek the assistance of POLO in
verifying a job offer from a certain Barrister Martin Bishop which is a nanny
job for Mrs. Julie Adams of 206 Springfield Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 007114
USA.
In the said job offer, Martin Bishop claimed that he is
associated with Macroberts Solicitors based in New Jersey. The poor victim was
lured by the job details sent via email that he sent USD276.99 via Western
Union to Qunesha Clewis of 1520 Sepulveda Ave., Apt. G, San Bernardino,
California.
