The Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Arturo Brion asked the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) for immediate suspension in the implementing the Memorandum Circular No. 04.
The POEA Administrator Rosalinda Baldoz said that processing of the documents of directly hired overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) will be based again on the procedures they used before January 15, 2008 where they do not require the employers to pay for the repatriation and performance bonds.
Brion will talk to the POEA Governing Boards today, Feb, 18 to discuss the directives of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo regarding the adjustments of MC 04.
